As Calibre represent all the major rheology equipment suppliers in the UK, we felt it was the perfect opportunity to host the Methods in Action workshop alongside AACCi before their annual conference in London. Major equipment suppliers Brabender, C-Cell, Chopin Technologies, Perten Instruments came together under one roof in order to provide practical, working demonstrations of AACCi approved methods and new technology.
The workshop was held at London Southbank University inside the bakery school, in which each manufacturer was allocated a laboratory to set up working examples of their equipment such as; Brabender Farinograph TS, C-Cell Colour, Chopin Mixolab 2 and Perten DoughLab.
The day started with a series of presentations from Paul Cliffe (Calibre) and Devon Petrie (National Bakery School) introducing the format of the day. Michelle Manderfeld (General Mills) was invited to be our guest speaker to discuss the importance of AACCi approved methods and how stringent the process of approving a method is in order to ensure global consistency. After the presentations, Delegates where free to wander between labs during sessions to see equipment in action. The final session of the day was a chance for all the manufacturers to showcase new and exciting equipment and advances in technology.
